An hour inland from Agadir the road climbs into the Atlas and drops into a gorge of pale rock, palm trees and clear green pools fed by the Tamraght river. There is time to walk between the pools, swim where the water is deep enough, and stop for mint tea at one of the small cafés along the valley floor. Morning and afternoon departures are available; mornings are quieter, afternoons are warmer for swimming.
